Chapter 1 — New Beginning

Mornings started early in village.

Birds were making sounds, people were going to farms, and smoke was coming from kitchen fires.

In a small house lived Meher Kaur, a 22-year-old girl.

Meher was simple, shy, and kind. She was not very beautiful like movie actresses, but she had soft eyes and a sweet smile. She always spoke politely and got nervous while talking to strangers.

She loved reading books and sitting quietly near the fields in the evening.

Meher’s Family

Her father, Gurmail Singh (49), was a farmer. He worked very hard but earned little money.

Her mother, Harjit Kaur (45), stitched clothes for village women to help the family.

Meher also had a younger brother, Lucky (16). He was funny and naughty. He always teased Meher.

“Don’t forget us after becoming rich in the city,” he laughed.

Meher smiled.

“I can never forget you.”

Their house was small but full of love.

Meher’s Friends

Meher had two best friends.

Simran (23) was loud, funny, and confident. She loved makeup and gossip.

Noor (22) was calm and smart. She understood Meher very well.

One day Noor asked her,

“Are you scared to go to the city?”

Meher looked down.

“A little.”

“Everything will be okay,” Noor said softly.

The Big News

A few days ago, Meher got a job in Chandigarh.

She got selected as a junior assistant in a big company called Aether Global.

When the email came, everyone in the house became emotional.

Her father smiled proudly.

Her mother started crying happily.

Meher was excited… but also scared.

She had never lived outside the village before.

In The City

Far away from the village, in a tall glass office building, stood Armaan Malhotra.

He was 28 years old and the CEO of Aether Global.

Rich. Smart. Confident.

People respected him and feared him at the same time.

Armaan always wore formal clothes, expensive watches, and looked calm in every situation.

But inside, he was tired and lonely.

Armaan’s Family

His father, Rajeev Malhotra (58), was a strict businessman.

His mother, Devika Malhotra (53), cared a lot about status and reputation.

Armaan also had a younger sister, Tara (24).

Tara was cheerful and always annoyed her brother.

“You work too much,” she said one evening.

“And you talk too much,” Armaan replied.

She laughed loudly.

Armaan’s Friends

Armaan had two close friends.

Kabir (29) was funny and flirted with every girl.

Rhea (27) was mature and intelligent. She understood Armaan’s feelings without him speaking much.

“You look stressed again,” Rhea told him during a meeting.

“I’m fine.”

“You always say that.”

Armaan gave a small smile.

Two Different Worlds

That night, Meher packed her clothes in an old suitcase.

At the same time, Armaan stood near his office window looking at the city lights.

One girl from a small village.

One rich CEO from the city.

Both living completely different lives.

Neither knew that very soon…

Their worlds were going to change forever.
